Registration
Online registration opens September 9th after the Parent Meeting and will be available until space is filled or on Sept 17, whichever comes first. The link for registration will be given to all parents who attend the mandatory meeting.  If you have an unavoidable conflict with the Parent Meeting, please contact us *before* the meeting to make accommodations.

STUDENT PARTICIPATION also involves the following PARENT VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT:

  1. Attend the mandatory Parent Meeting on September 9th at 7pm in the RMS Commons
  2. Be an RMS PTSA member (scholarships available)
  3. Be an approved LWSD volunteer (apply online at lwsd.org)
  4. Minimum of 5 volunteer hours to chaperone rehearsals (2 rehearsals)

Drama Production FAQ’s

Who can participate in the production?

All RMS students are invited to participate. In addition, those students who are home schooled or attend a choice school, but live within the RMS attendance area, may participate upon request.

Can I participate in sports and the productions?

Because of the rehearsal demands for Cast, students selected for a cast role will be unable to play in Fall sports. Crew students may be able to play Fall sports as long as they can attend Wednesday meetings. If you choose to participate in intramural sport, it needs to be with the understanding that you may have to miss practice when you are called to rehearsal.  If you get a spot in the show, you need to commit to be available to attend rehearsal unless you make an official request on the conflict calendar. No conflicts are allowed during Tech Week.

What are the participant’s fees?

The fee, payable to RMS PTSA, is due with registration as follows:

$160 for cast members (on stage)

$50 for production crew members (set and prop design, and backstage)

Full and partial tuition scholarships are available.  E-mail dramachair@rmsptsa.org to inquire.
Registration fees include a production t-shirt.

How do I register?

An email with the registration link will ONLY be sent to the parents or guardians that attend the mandatory Parent Meeting on September 9, 7-8pm in the RMS Commons. You will receive the registration link the evening following the parent meeting.  Registration will open Sept 9, 9pm.  Once registration is confirmed, another email will follow with cast audition information.
Crew members register by filling out the application e-mailed to them after parent meeting.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

Refunds can be issued up to the point of the first day of rehearsal.

What if I have other activities that I’m committed to?

Occasional conflicts are allowed, but substantial conflicts may affect the role offered. A conflict calendar will be filled out in conjunction with your audition form. If it’s difficult to commit to four rehearsal days each week, consider joining the tech crew, which meets on Wednesdays only.

What are the Parent committees I can choose from?

Help where you like! Choose from the following committees: Crew Leaders (set design, props), Costumes, Makeup & Hair, Load-in & Strike, Design & Publicity, Concessions & Star Grams, and Cast & Crew Party, and more! Detailed descriptions of committee responsibilities and sign-ups will be available at the Parent Meeting on Sept 9.

What is "Tech Week" or "Tech Rehearsals"?

Tech Week is the final week of rehearsals when all production elements—lights, sound, costumes, and set changes—are integrated with the cast’s performance. This critical time ensures everything runs smoothly for the show, so attendance is essential for the team’s readiness!

I have another question! Who do I ask?

Please email Producers Misty, Lani, Pam, Darinee, and Cindy with your questions at dramachair@rmsptsa.org
