The Volunteer Spotlight is here to recognize those who volunteer at Redmond Middle School. Thank you for your amazing dedication and support. We are a better organization because of you! This edition, the RMS PTSA shines the spotlight on:

Peggy Joanou

Peggy Joanou, Treasurer

My first job was at a Six Flags amusement park! Wonderful perks at that summer job. I've also worked previously in accounting software conversions and as a bookstore manager (remember Borders?). My degrees are in international studies and management, so who knows where that will lead me next?

I wanted to help teachers and see what my kids were up to at school, so I started volunteering in the classroom at Redmond Elementary and eventually became very involved in creating and running PTSA events over the 12 years my kids were there. My favorite was International Night. I also loved monthly volunteering with Passport Club because it gave me the chance to be face-to-face with students in all grades to encourage their curiosity about the world around us and to explore the amazing diversity right here in Redmond.

I was membership chair at Red El for many years and taking on the treasurer position here at RMS was a welcome change of challenge. I read a lot and enjoy trying to get all 6 of us (3 kids, a husband, and a dog) outside as much as possible. Backyard badminton became a thing last summer, light hikes and lots of dog walks.
