Congratulations to all RMS students who participated in Knights of Pi Math Tournament (KPMT)

Congratulations to all the 50+ Redmond Middle Schoolers representing Grades 6, 7 and 8 who participated in KPMT held at Newport High school on December 12, 2015. Grade 6 had the largest contingent of 29 students, a good indicator that they will continue to carry forward the ‘Math’ legacy at RMS.

Over 400 students and 110 teams from 26 schools competed at this tournament. Our students were amongst the trophy winners in each of the grades and Grade 7 and 8 teams got 1^st place. At the beginning of the award ceremony, organizers called on stage students who could recite more than 30 digits of Pi. One of our students, Raghav Narula captivated the audience and recited 350 digits of Pi (highest).

Grade 6

Individual Awards: Krish Jain – 7^th place, Conor Kennedy – 10^th place

Grade 7

Team winning 1^st place: Arnav Narula, Raghav Narula, Shrey Srivastava, Siddhartha Yalamanchili

Individual Awards: Raghav Narula – 6^th Place

Grade 8

Team winning 1^st place: Ananya Jain, Ashley, Darren Denq, Maxwell Wang

Team winning 5^thplace: Atul Rao, Ty Brown, Kavi Singh

Individual Awards: Ananya Jain – 3^rd Place, Maxwell Wang – 7^th Place, Ashley – 8^th Place, Darren Denq – 9^th Place
