Each year, the Redmond Middle School PTSA recognizes volunteers who have given outstanding service to our children and school community. We do this through two awards: the Golden Acorn and the Outstanding Educator Award.
Now is your chance to participate in the selection of our award recipients by nominating candidates for consideration by our award committee.
To nominate someone for an award, read the summaries below for each category and send us your recommendations by email to awards@rmsptsa.org by May 19, 2019.
Golden Acorn Award
Each year, our PTSA gives the Golden Acorn Award to recognize a volunteer who has given outstanding service to our children and our school community. The Golden Acorn Award is very special and is given for continued and dedicated service to only one or two recipients a year.
A Golden Acorn recipient receives a gold pin and his/her name is added to the recognition plaque. The Redmond Middle PTSA contributes in the person’s name to the Washington state PTSA financial Grant Foundation. This foundation provides scholarships each year to high school graduates entering college and vocational school.
In your email, please be sure to detail what service has been done for the school or community, and for how long.
Outstanding Educator Award
The Outstanding Educator Award is awarded to an outstanding teacher, assistant, custodian, bus driver, administrator, or community member who has gone beyond the normal expectations of their jobs to make the learning environment fun, beneficial, and challenging for our students.
An Outstanding Educator recipient receives a pin and the Redmond Middle School PTSA contributes in the person’s name to the Washington state PTSA financial Grant Foundation. This foundation provides scholarships each year to high school graduates entering college and vocational school.

1. Describe why you feel this person is an outstanding educator.
2. List programs / activities used by the nominee to enhance “normal” education for students.
